We are thrilled to announce our new free after-school Art and Writing Workshops, starting in May 2026. Located in the heart of Stamford, NY, our workshops are designed to provide a nurturing and inspiring environment for children in our community to explore their artistic talents. As a female-owned bookstore dedicated to our community, we believe in the power of stories and art to connect us all.

About Our Workshops

At LionEyes Books, we are more than just a bookstore; we are a community hub. Our workshops are an extension of our mission to foster a love for creativity and learning.

• What: Free Art and Writing Workshops for children in the community.
• When: After school, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
• Where: LionEyesBooks, 66 Main Street, Stamford, NY.
• Cost: Absolutely FREE!
• Starting: May 2026.

We provide a safe, inclusive, and fun space for kids to express themselves, learn new skills, and make new friends. Plus, a healthy and delicious dinner is provided each evening, so you can rest assured your child is well-cared for.

Explore, Create, and Grow in Our Art Workshops

Our art workshops are a hands-on adventure into the world of visual arts. We encourage experimentation and self-expression through a variety of engaging activities. Children will have the opportunity to:

• Paint: Discover the joy of color and create their own masterpieces.
• Collage: Tell stories with paper, fabric, and found objects.
• Create Zines: Design and publish their own mini-magazines.
• And so much more!

All materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own favorite supplies.

Craft Your Story in Our Writing Workshops

In our writing workshops, young authors will find their voice and learn the art of storytelling. We will explore different forms of writing, from poetry to short stories, in a supportive and encouraging setting. Our workshops will help students:
